The magnesium (3.5%) and chromium (0.25%) alloy further enhance its superior corrosion resistance. While it will lose strength subjected to high temperatures (390°F / 199°C to 480°F / 249°C), its strength can be increased via cold working (note: aluminum 5154 cannot be heat-treated).
